January 17th 2016

Todays meeting was a members painting day, the subject being ‘Flowers and Berries from the winter garden’. Despite waking to a covering of snow twenty one members arrived and an enjoyable day was spent depicting our subjects and catching up with news. The draw took place for the members who will participate in the workshop in February.

The next meeting will be on 21st February , Helen Campbell will be leading the workshop demonstrating her technique of painting and how to use photographs. As always there will be plenty of space for those not on the workshop to paint in another room and to see what is going on.

Meeting 20th December 2015

At this meeting, the last of the year, members were asked to paint a postcard depicting a Christmas pot plant. No prior preparation was allowed. The results were diverse and very good. The images included poinsettia flowers, cyclamen, christmas thyme, christmas rose and the media used included watercolour, coloured pencil, graphite and ink.

The next meeting will be on the 17th January – a painting day with the theme – Flowers and berries from the garden.

Best wishes to all our members for a merry christmas and a happy and healthy 2016 with lots of painting opportunities.
