Monthly meetings

The Society has a monthly meeting at the Botanical Centre at Winterbourne Botanic Garden, usually on the second Sunday of the month. This consists of a short session when members are kept up to date with the activities of the Society followed by a workshop, talk or painting day.

Workshops have been given by experts in the field of botanical illustration, such as Rachel Pedder-Smith, Susan Christopher-Coulson, Valerie Oxley and many other prestigious artists. Successful artists and illustrators from the Society also share their individual expertise. Through these workshops members can investigate different ways of working and experience a range of media. Talks encompass many aspects of art and botany and have included a variety of subjects from wildflower meadows to selling work in the greeting card industry. Painting days offer the opportunity to work with the beautiful plants in the garden.

Members are also given the opportunity to exhibit their work at an annual exhibition and sell cards and prints of their work at a variety of events such as the Winterbourne Gardeners Open day.
