Following a career as an NHS scientist specialising in Microbiology and Mycology I became expert in studying subjects in detail and in the use of a microscope. My interest in botany had begun after being given bean seeds to plant at school and watching them grow. Always a keen gardener, I progressed from helping my parents to having my own gardens. I loved to photograph gardens, plants and flowers so it was a natural progression to botanical art.
Mainly, I paint in watercolour but enjoy using graphite pencils and ink. I enjoy the challenge of capturing the colours and beauty of nature on paper.
