January 2025 Meeting – Emma Tildesley

March 17, 2025

On Sunday, 19th January, the Society had the pleasure of hosting Emma Tildesley, an SBA Fellow and St Cuthberts Mill Ambassador. She led a fantastic workshop all about creating glossy leaves using coloured pencils—it was a treat for everyone involved!

Before the session, members were given reference materials to get started, and during the workshop, Emma showed her brilliant layering techniques, shared her favourite tools, and took the time to answer everyone’s questions.

One of the key takeaways was learning how to use different grey and green pencils to achieve stunning tones of green to achieve that glossy finish. Members also left with super helpful handouts detailing Emma’s methods, along with printouts for their personal reference.

To top it off, Emma generously shared her go-to tools and paper types, ensuring everyone had the chance to soak up her expertise. It was an inspiring and productive day for all!
