October Meeting – Exploring Botanical Gelli Plate Printing with Lynsey Cleaver

October 24, 2025

Lynsey proved to be a fun tutor, whose enthusiasm for her subject inspired us all.

We were given everything we needed to explore and push the boundaries, creating amazing pieces of printed art.

She confessed to having raided her garden (plus an early morning forage of her neighbours front gardens) to bring LOADS of twigs, leaves of every size and shape, seedheads and dried grasses which we arranged on the gelli plate to print negative shapes; then by securing the paper with sticky tape, to keep the alignment true, to actually reprint the same piece of paper to pick out the veins and texture of the same leaves.

2 hours wasn’t nearly long enough! The time flew by so quickly.  We then helped Lynsey to clear the decks for the afternoon session.

I am sure they will have enjoyed it as much as we did.

Thank you, Lynsey. Please come again soon!
